Well fans sorry this blog is a little old, but this is my first of many sports blogs. Although Dr. J loves to counsel and try to help people with their problems, there is no way I can deny, I love talking about sports. I am going to focus on a number of different games that were a great interest for me.
First, let me take you back to the Michigan and Michigan State game. My beloved Wolverines did not do as I expected them to, and they lost to the Spartans. There was a number of things wrong, receivers dropping balls, not being able to stop the run or pass very well, a certain punter who thought he was going to try to run for the first down when he should of kicked it away, a INT during OT just to name a few. But Wolverine faithful out there who maybe reading this blog never fear. We are still going to have a great season. Tate did a pretty good job as a Freshmen QB. In reality, we did a OK job. Don't forget we are still in that rebuilding process, it may take a little while longer, but happy days will be back in the Big House. On the Wolverine note, this week they go to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes (hence Iowa) in a 7pm (Eastern time) game. Iowa managed to pull off a win a few weeks ago against Penn State. It will be a tough one for sure, but if the Wolverines can pull it off, not only will we be ranked again (unless we get robbed) but it will show fans for sure Michigan is still on the top of their game.
As a Michigan fan, many people may expect me to be a Lions fan. This is really not the case. and since the Lions have nothing interesting to talk about (Sorry Lion faithful). Instead I am going to talk about Monday Night Football, where my team the Green Bay Packers lost to my boy Brett Favre and the Vikings. Now this game was conflicting for me because I wanted my team to get the victory, but I also wanted to see Favre get back at the Packers management. Th Vikings had a great game. AP was not as big of an impact as he was in some games, though he definitely had more plays, Favre's performance was outstanding. No INT, no sacks and 3 TD's (I forget the yards it was in the 250-300 range). While the Packers struggled in many areas, the defense and offense, where we saw Rodgers (who had more passing yards) get sack 8 times, a INT, and just one struggle after another. I hate to watch my Packers struggle, but as a man who never wanted to see Favre go out of Green Bay the way he did (aka being forced out of Green Bay, I was happy to see him take the first game. He may not say it has anything to do with vengeance, but part of it is, and on Monday night, he showed he can still play, even out play a certain performer who is the "future" of Green Bay. Brett Favre, I salute you sir.
And alas I come to my Tigers. What can I say more? They lost in the 12th inning. 4 hrs and 42 minutes of my life I will never have back. Rodney should not have itched as long as he did, players missing important catches, people swinging at balls when bases are loaded, one problem after another. The Tigers lost to the Twins and their season is over. I may suggest shake up the Tigers coaching staff a little bit. Something has to be done to try to prevent things like this from happening. The Tigers lead their division for most of the season, and in one night, it was all taken away. Unlike the Lions who lose most of their games and no one really has any real hope for them (again sorry Lion faithful) the Tigers had a shot to go to the playoffs and blew it!
That's all the Doctor has to say right now. Please feel free to leave a comment, I love to have your feedback.
