Hello sports fans it is that time of the year again. I will give my prediction over who is going to win each game, but I am only going into detail in the games in which I think are important enough to go into detail in. But at any rate, I will try to have a little something to say about a lot of the games. So here it goes. For listing of these games go to http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls.
Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg Bowl Southern Mississippi vs Louisville. I have Southern Mississippi in this one. Maybe I am a little biased because it is where Brett Favre went to college, but at 8-4, they have a respectable record and a team who has enough talent which they should be able to pull off a win.
MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Utah vs Boise State. It is a real shame this game is being played so early during the bowl season. Yes I often criticize Boise State and even Utah in reality for not having the toughest schedules. With that being said, both teams can be exciting to watch and have a lot of talent on their teams, and it is kind of a surprise this game is being played so early on. I actually have Utah in this one. To me they had the tougher schedule this season and although they lost one more game than Boise State did, I think they will show their worth and their power. It is going to be a very close one, but I am going to give it to Utah.
San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Navy vs SDSU. I have Navy in this one.
Sheraton Hawaii Bowl Tulsa vs Hawaii. I have Tulsa. Both have three losses and Hawaii may have one more win, but I have Tulsa. Neither team plays in the toughest conference, but I often feel Hawaii is given way more credit then they really deserve. Look for a Tulsa victory.
Little Caesars Bowl (use to be Motor City Bowl) Florida International vs Toledo. I have Toledo in this one (I hope that makes you happy Ryan Moline). Toledo, though plays for the Mac really is not a horrible team and compared to Florida International, I do not think they should have a terrible time winning, though I would not expect a blowout. Look for a Toledo win.
AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl Air Force vs Georgia Tech. It is hard for me to just choose Air Force, but with the trouble Georgia Tech had this season, I am going to give this win to Air Force.
Champs Sports Bowl West Virginia vs NC State. West Virginia is a team which can usually impress, expect no different from them in this bowl game. I have West Virginia.
Insight Bowl Missouri vs Iowa. I am tempted to go with my Big Ten school here and choose Iowa. There 7-5 record really does not do the team justice to the true competitors they really are. Being said, I have Missouri. I think they have a lot of talent and went 10-2 in a strong Big 12 conference. I want Iowa, but I have Missouri in this one.
Military Bowl Pres. By Northrop Grumman E Carolina vs Maryland. I have Maryland in this one. They were almost able to beat my Wolverines. Though it should not be the basis for choosing who is going to win, they do have some talent. I think their head coaching issue is going to be a factor or possible, but if they can stay focused through this time, I think they should be able to pull off the win over E Carolina.
Texas Bowl Baylor vs Illinois. Not only is Baylor helped by having the game in their home state, but Baylor was a team who despite being 7-5 had some impressive moments this season. I do give credit to Illinois and do not think they are a team which is going to be walked over. This is a harder game to call and although I want Illinois to represent the Big Ten well, I think in the end the win may go to Baylor though this game could go either way.
Valero Alamo Bowl Arizona vs Oklahoma State, I have Oklahoma State in this one. Oklahoma State these last few years have been putting together some impressive teams. I think Oklahoma State will be able to handle Arizona with little problem.
Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Army vs SMU, I have SMU. Both teams are nothing to brag about. I solely picked SMU based on their record.
New Era Pinstripe Bowl Kansas State vs Syracuse. Both have the same record but I give more credit to the Big 12 then I do the Big East. Have Kansas State in this one.
Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl University of North Carolina vs Tennessee. I have Tennessee. They play in the better conference and of the two they are the better team despite the record which may say other wise. Have Tennessee in this one.
Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl Nebraska vs Washington. Nebraska is coming to the Big Ten next season and that is great for the Big Ten because they are such a great team. Powerful on offense and defense I am giving this game to the Corn Huskers. Nebraska all the way.
Meineke Car Care Bowl S Florida vs Clemson, I have Clemson.
Hyundai Sun Bowl Notre Dame vs Miami. I am going to make some people I know mad and choose Miami. The game is not being shown on the NotreDame Broadcasting Channel, but with that being said, these are two teams who both have had ups and downs all season long. I do not think it is going to be a lopsided game either way but I am going to go with Miami.
AutoZone Liberty Bowl Georgia vs C Florida. I do not know much about C Florida but I know Georgia has been struggling this season and their record shows it. I have C Florida.
Chick-fil-A Bowl South Carolina vs Florida State. South Carolina has impressed me all season. I am looking for them to impress me in this game too. I have South Carolina.
TicketCity Bowl Northwestern vs Texas Tech. I will pick my Big Ten school in this one. I think they are looking to prove they can play and make an impact and many of their losses were so close. Texas tech will not be a push over, but Northwestern just may have what it takes to beat them. I am going with Northwestern.
Outback Bowl Flordia vs Penn State. Meyer vs Papa Joe Paterno. I have Penn State in this one. They are both 7-5, but Florida really struggled this season and with this whole mess with Meyer saying he is going to retire again, I am going to give it to a Penn State team. Both teams want to show something after disappointing seasons for their school and I think Penn State is going to get it done.
Capitol One Bowl. Alabama vs Michigan State. I hate Michigan State with an upmost passion. I get sick and tired of the fans acting like their football team, which despite being 11-1 have nothing to brag about, are mightier then God. But, they do have some talent and being in the Big Ten I am going to root for them to represent well. Nick Saban though is going to bring a very strong Alabama team. I do not say this put of spite, but I am giving it to Alabama. I think they are going to be the more prepared team and had a much tougher schedule which prepared them so much more.
Gator Bowl, Mississippi State vs Michigan. The game which is near and dear to my heart this bowl season. The Wolverines are surrounded by the question of what will happen to Rich Rodriguez after this season is over. Michigan is going to have to bring a lot to the table offensively. Sadly, as much as I hate to say it, I do not know if they will be able to bring enough defensively to the table in order to really show up a ranked Mississippi State. Plus with the struggles Michigan has also had on their special teams, they are relying solely on their offense to win the game. I really hate to say it but I have to give it to Mississippi State.
Rose Bowl, Game Presented By VIZIO Wisconsin vs TCU. TCU has had a perfect season. Being said I am going with the Big Ten, and I am going with the Badgers. They are solid offensively and defensively and are going to show why they deserve to be in the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin wins over TCU in a close one.
Fiesta Bowl, UCONN vs Oklahoma. Do I have to describe this one? Oklahoma wins it.
The Orange Bowl, Stanford vs Virginia Tech. Jim Harbaugh looks like to be the man Michigan will go after should they fire Rich Rod. Stanford is a very impressive team and they are impressive enough to beat Virginia Tech, in which should be a great game. Stanford has my confidence in this one.
Sugar Bowl, Ohio State vs Arkansas. Pryor vs former Michigan QB Ryan Mallet. Ohio State is the team I hate most but I think they may have the talent to beat Arkansas. Both teams are very impressive, have exciting offenses to watch. I am actually going to with the Big Ten in this one, and I am going to choose OSU, but this game is going to be a tough one for both teams and do not necessarily count out Arkansas because in a game like this you can’t.
GoDaddy.com Bowl (I didn’t choose the title) Middle Tennessee vs Miami Ohio. Miami Ohio in this one but no one really cares do they?
Cotton Bowl, LSU vs Texas AM. I really enjoy Les Miles. He always puts together a great team and it is going to show in this game. I have LSU.
BBVA Compass Bowl Pittsburgh vs Kentucky, I have Kentucky in the upset.
Nevada vs BC. They beat Boise State, and they are going to beat BC.
And the big one. The one we all will be waiting to watch. The BCS National Championship game.
Oregon vs
Auburn. To very powerful teams. To solid teams on offense and defense. Both went undefeated. Both are going to give us an incredible show. I am guessing most will pick Auburn in this one, but I want to give it to Oregon. I think it is a long time overdue, and I do not think they are going to waste this show to show people what they can do. It is a cant miss game, and in the end, I think Oregon may prevail.

Update Michigan Predictions
With the Michigan Wolverines we can at least look forward going to a bowl game at the end of this season. No it probably will not be as big as what we were expecting to, but after a few years of not going to one period, I think it is going to be a very nice present for all of us Michigan fans to know we can still play another game after OSU. Let’s look at The Wolverines who after beating Purdue is now 7-3.
The offense struggled a little bit against Purdue but it still shows its continual improvement. Michigan fans had to wait a long time to finally see an improvement on the offense and this was the season it has come. It finally has the right pieces it needs in order to have success and its only going to continue to have improvements.
Special teams have been a horror. We need to get someone else who can actually kick the ball. There is no excuse for the shabby way the kid is playing other the fact he could never play in the first place. Once we get another kicker, we are only going to be so much stronger then we already are.
Defense at many woes this season and it is going to continue against Wisconsin and OSU. Still, with nine starting freshmen you have to expect they are going to have some plunders. I don’t care who your head coach is, nine freshmen is just going to be hard to work with. But they have been making improvements and they are going to be so much better next season with all the experience they had this season.
It is hard to be realistic in saying we will win against Wisconsin and OSU. I think we could possibly upset either one or both, but it is only a possibility and an upset is an appropriate term to use. If they win one of those games they will at least get the 8-4 record I predicted at the beginning of the season. If not, we will still have at least a winning season and go to the bowl game and come back next season with an even stronger Michigan Team. We still may have to look down the road a little bit, but after this season, we are only going to continue to see improvements.

MidSummer Night's Dream (SAU) Review
Dr. J will be honest and make a confession. Theatre and plays are usually not his fancy. But every now and then he views brilliant performances, which must recognition. One of such plays is Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed by some of the talented drama cast of Spring Arbor University. I am not gong to drone on and on about the plot which some of you maybe aware, or if you are not, there is the lovely source known as the internet which will quickly be able to bring you up to speed. Having read this play a number of years ago, I did go into it with some certain expectations. Not only were they surpassed, but there seemed to be a masterful grasp and performance of what can be a rather difficult work to master. There was humor, suspense, romance, action! There was not a dull moment in the play save maybe for those who struggled to understand a language which Shakespeare decided he was going to make up. It was presented in such a way though, where one could always understand what was on. Putting it in a 50’s theme modernized it in such a way where it became much more comprehensible those in audience. All the actors did a superb job. Not only with their acting, but again, in remembering what can be quite a difficult play to memorize. It was simple stage setting, but with the action continuously moving about, one felt more drawn in as if they were actually up close and person. The costumes were good, with special applauds to finding a donkey head for Bottoms transformation. One of the things I was most curious to see was extremely well done. Of course, while I salute and give my accolades to all those who were involved with the play, a special tip of the hat to my old friend Trevor Tracy. An extremely talented actor who never ceases to impress me and without whom I would not have went to the play in the first place. Well-done cast. Bravo!

Favre allegations
Well I do not think this is going to be as long as I originally wanted to make it to be, but I am going to try to make it meaningful. By now people in the sports world know all about the supposed allegations regarding Brett Favre sending lewd photos and racy texts messages to New York Jets game hostess two years ago. I say allegations because let’s get real people. First, as great Brett Favre is how lewd and how racy can Grandpa Brett get? I mean really? Come on now? This is just a possible attempt to try to get money from Brett Favre (I say possible, because the woman in question has not officially met with authorities or from anyone in the NFL). This could just be a possible ploy from Blackspin to get publicity for their own company. Favre is a man of integrity and character in the NFL. I say let’s wait to see how things play out. But I mean really? Can you imagine a lewd Favre? I cant. And I don't say it because I am a Favre fan. Is there a possiblity Favre got caught up,thinking because he is Brett Favre he would get away with it? Possibly. But since the person who the allegations are coming from has yet to met with officials, that alone gives me serious doubts. My point is, love or hate Favre, give him the benefit of the doubt. Innocent until proven guilty.

MSU Vs UM game plus UM predictions
As Dr. J promised here are some of his thoughts on the game. Ill try to make it short, but still get the point across.
Michigan fans knew there was going to be a struggle on the defense side. We have had struggle all year, and with MSU being our hardest test yet, it was no surprise that we continued our struggles against them. We were able to stop them, sometimes in very important situations on a few times. Yet with the obvious defense struggles Michigan has, and which makes me call a question to the job which Greg Robinson, their defense coordinator poses, I do not know if we were expecting to see such a struggle on the offense. It would be foolish to think it was going to be some time of cake walk game, but with the being said, I think everyone would have expected more out of the Heisman hopeful. Not only did he not have a very big day rushing the ball, which in the first five games he accumulated over 900 rushing yards, but he also threw three interceptions, two of them being in the end zone. Michigan State was definitely the better team, but Michigan shot themselves in the foot and gave up some very big opportunities, which could of arguable helped Michigan win the game.
So what to look for this season. Well despite the offense did not look like it’s usual self, I still expect some big things about them. It was an off day, but the Michigan offense just needs to get back to what they were doing. I expect them to still play with a dominating force. The problem is going to be with their defense and there special teams. Michigan still has some pretty tough teams a head of them and if they do not start to make some much needed improvements on their defense, they are going to lose quite a few more games. We can’t stop the run or pass and there are going to be a lot of teams who are going to take major advantage of that. Also their special teams need to be able to make improvement. If they can not make field goals, they may ended up losing out on what should be in the bank points. I predict though Michigan will end up with a 8-4 or 9-3 record.
As always I love to get feedback on this, whether you agree or disagree. I also love to hear ideas for future blogs. Whether sports, politics, life, whatever. For now leave comments/ ideas here , dr.j.sabin@hotmail.com or at the Dr. j fan page on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Dr-J/28846666724).

Importance of the 4th
I am going to make this a short one, because I have spoke on it on many occasions. Fourth of July is a good time. Spending time with family and friends. Eating good food having fun, that is all some really good stuff.
But there is something which is much more important. We in America are a free country for a very specific reason. We have had brave men and women fight for us. Some died for us. Fighting and dieing so you and me can have the freedom we love and enjoy. Fighting so we can call ourselves Americans. So on this day, remember why we have the freedom we have. Why we are the greatest nation in the world. And I know I fans in other countries. Understand I am not knocking any of yours, rather I am a patriot of mine as I am sure you are of yours. But for us who say we love America, take time to remember why we have the ability to call ourselves Americans. Pay tribute to the greatest men and women who have ever, are, or will ever live. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! Pay tribute to those who have helped keep America free. God Bless the USA!

In the World of College Football
So sports fans, there is a lot of action which happened this week in the world of college football. Although some of it has been under speculation for awhile, this maybe one of the biggest action packed weeks of college football history and it is not even the college football season. I am going to try to cover some of the issues which have been going on, talk about what I think is going to be their future impact in the world of sports, and I am also going to talk about some of the things which may come as a result of what has been going on.
One of the first things I am going to talk about is what has been going on with USC. For those of you who may not know, USC had been found violating a number of rules, some of which included giving improper benefits to players, letting an ineligible Reggie Bush play. Although they were also having some issues with their basketball team I will be focusing on the football team. As a result , USC is banned from playing in any post season games for the next two years, lose a number of scholarships (20-30 depending on what source you read) and it may be possible that Reggie Bush loses his Heisman. Also, victories in which Reggie Bush was a part of, will be forfeited. You know what I have to say? Good. I am sick and tired of these teams like USC who think they can get away with anything. Were not talking about a simple mistake which was made. We are not talking about something in which the coaches and team were not trying to break rules. They let a ineligible player play and they violated NCAA rules by giving players like Reggie Bush extra benefits. They deserve to lose those games, the don’t deserve to play in the off season, and I hope Reggie Bush gets punished too. Because the juniors and the seniors on the team right now are not going to get the chance to go to another bowl game in their college career if they choose to stick with USC. You cant punish those boys who did not do anything and then just sit there and say Reggie Bush who is a major part of this whole investigation In the first place gets to keep his reward and go off on his merry way. That’s a lot of BS and it is unfair to those boys who did not do anything wrong. Take away the award and let this whole situation be a lesson to other teams. You may think you can get away from it for awhile but in the end you are going to get caught and you are going to have to pay back. But my oh my how the mighty have fallen.
Now there is a lot of other news to be covered and I am afraid I will not be able to cover it all, mainly because there is so much I am bound to miss something. Also with all the schools that are going to different conferences, I am bound to miss some so please, bear with me.
To the Big Ten so far we have Nebraska. I personally hate Nebraska after what happened in the Alamo bowl back in 2006, but this should be an interesting addition to the Big Ten. There are talks that Missouri may come over as well, but there are also talks they will go with Kansas to the Mountain West Confrence. Notre Dame would make sense since they play so many teams from the Big Ten already, but whether they come over to us or join the Big East, possible Sec though of those two the Big East seems most likely at the time being remains to be unseen. It would also not surprise me if they try to stay independent. That way they would continue to have the freedom to schedule all the games they want to do, but with the way things are going and with everyone only being greedily fixated on the whole money aspect of it, I am pretty use it is going to be in their best interest to join a conference, and as much as I hate them, I hope it is with the Big Ten.
On a side tangent here but this is something which is very important. Everyone does realize why all these changes are going on right? Money. It is plain and simple. Now I understand it takes money in order to make the game of college football to work, but college football is not suppose to be all about the money. These are professionals who are playing the game for a living although some of them will be some day. These are kids who are playing ball while they are going to school. And although a number of these kids get the scholarships in order to play ball, a lot of money is being made on these kids. In fact too much of it. I remember being outraged by the Big Ten network, when they were charging people to get it. Charging money to see games which were always on tv before. We are getting into an era when the game which was once more about passion is becoming more about the money. Now the players of course will still play with passion because they are not getting anything they did not get before at least it is that way for the time being. So you can expect to see the passion out of the players. It just sickens me to see the tradition of these conferences and other things in which made the sport great being changed and swapped just so people can make some more money. Don’t get me wrong, college football is always going to be my favorite sport and some of these changes are going to be pretty interesting. I am a little peeved the changes which are being made is not so the sport is made better for the fans and the players but it is so some people can make a few extra bucks. It is a shame and it is really inexcusable. There is nothing we can do about it, but it is something we just have to live with. We live in a money centered world and even now the game of college football is becoming more and more money focused instead of focusing on the kids who make the sport great. The traditions which we all love.
A lot of the news is stemming over the basic collapse of the Big 12. It looks like or at least at one point looked like Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas AM, and Oklahoma state may go to the Pac Ten. But Texas is still considering options and the SEC is trying to draft at least Texas and Oklahoma. One thing for sure, this is one big mess. I was a little surprised to be honest to think the Big 12 was coming to an end. I am guessing the majority of the schools, at least the power schools will go to the Pac 10. Most of its competition is closer, and it is becoming the new power house conference. Oklahoma and Texas will go to the same conference so we will see soon what will happen. It would not really surprise me too much if they both joined the SEC, nothing does anymore, but it will be something to wait and see.
Now that it has though the BCS or as I like to call the BS no longer has the Big 12 to favor. It is going to be interesting as Boise State is looking to come and join the Pac 10, who they will favor. If they keep this current system. The Big 10 is looking to get a title game and we may finally in the near future see a play off system. Now that may be a little far off considering all the money they make from the sponsors and considering the fact these people don’t give a flip for anything except for money, we know they may not be too willing to do that.
What are some of your thoughts about this? Do you like the moves? Do you think USC is being treated unfairly? Will we ever have a play off system? Please share your thoughts on what has been going on in the world of college football. Id also like to hear ideas for future blogs. I cover virtually all topics: sports, life, religion, politics, etc, so please share your ideas, because generally I will write about it if you suggest it.

Brett Favre Speculation
Now if you out in the Dr. J fan nation know something about Dr. J, you know he is one of the biggest Brett Favre fanatics out there. He is my all time favorite athlete and the very best QB that has , is, and will ever play football in the NFL. Now Brett Favre is getting older, and once again we are coming to him trying to decide if he is going to come back to the NFL or not.
To put this simply because I am not going to make this one a very long one, although I could talk all day about Brett Favre, Brett is coming back. He recently got surgery on his ankle, which although he was going to need to get it whether he was coming back or not, he got it now so he was going to be ready for the season to come.
The only reason why he has not made his decision official is because the fact when he does he is going to be expected to come to training camp. I would not be surprised if he already told the coaches he is coming back. And to you haters who says he needs to go to training camp, I think last season proved he definitely does not need it. He is the best of all time, he does not have many years left to play, and he is going to make things count this season. Going to training camp will not only tire him out faster, but may risk an injury at a very pointless time of the season. It is def not worth risk. Rest assured. he will heal up, and we are going to have him back for at least another season of play.
Cant wait to see ya back on that field Brett Favre!!
So rest assured ladies and gentlemen, Brett Favre will come back, and he is going to have another outstanding season.
As always I would love to hear your view on this or future ideas. Reach me here by leaving a comment, my fan page on facebook, http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Dr-J/28846666724?ref=ts or at dr.j.sabin@hotmail.com

Jim Joyce Robbed Galarraga!
You know humans make mistakes. Despite that Jim Joyce is absolutely one of the absolute biggest idiots to ever ump the game of baseball. The moron. Jim Joyce totally and blatantly robbed Armando Galaragga of a perfect game. To those of you fans who do not know this, there has only been a total of 20 perfect games pitched in MLB history. Poor Galaragga who struggled last season, was going to be 21. Then, when the game should have been over, Jim Joyce who apparently does not get his vision covered in his insurance blew the call. HE BLEW THE CALL. By a MILE. Now look I know mistakes get made, but when you are being paid that much to be an ump for the MLB and you make that type of mistake, that travesty of a mistake, there needs to be punishments. You blew a perfect game. You at that point should have to wait a while before being allowed to call a game, if you are allowed to calla game ever again. Seriously, how can you blow a call like that? It is outrageous and scandalous. It is inexcusable. It is highway robbery. Next time maybe if Jim Joyce would get his head out of his butt he would not have missed that call.
Poor Galaragga. I feel very bad for him. He was going to be the 21st pitcher in history to have a perfect game. But you know what? I don’t give a rip what the umps say, it is still a perfect game. He was robbed and in my book it is always going to be a perfect game, because he pitched a perfect game.
This is why ladies and gentlemen we need replay. I know for many people it takes an element away from the game, but I don’t give a rip. When that element costs a man a perfect game who deserves a perfect game, obviously there is something wrong with the element. A replay would have confirmed the guy was out. No one can try to justify the ump was justified.
I may write more later. Tribute to the Troops
Now matter how much I would write, nothing I could say could give the men and women who has sacrificed and risked their lives fighting for the greatest country in the world. You know, America is not perfect. But despite that, it is and always will be the greatest country in the world. We are a free country and we owe our very freedom, our very existence of being American, to those brave men and women who risk their lives for us. There is nothing we could do, nothing we could ever say which would ever give them the respect and the tribute they deserve. No one deserves our respect more then these people. It sickens my very soul when people have the audacity to criticize our men and women in the armed services. It is appalling and it is a disgrace. These people, many who have sacrificed their lives, have also sacrificed so many other things , in order we can go on and live a safe life.
On this memorial day, is a day in which we take time, to honor these men and women, who have risked their lives and many of them paid for it with their lives. It really is not right to just set aside a few days out of the year. They deserve so much more and the lack of respect and consideration they get is something in which boils my blood. To those who can not support the troops, and I don’t care if you do not agree with the war or not, but if you can not support the troops, then I can have no respect for you whatsoever. The troops deserve so much more respect. But it is on days like Memorial Day which we are celebrating this weekend, we pay tribute to these brave men and women.
I do not kid myself. I know my blog does not have the biggest readership out there. But to any of the brave men and women who have risked their lives, and to those who have lost family and friends because they were willing to sacrifice so much, I just want to say there are no group of people on this earth, that I have more respect for then the men and women who fight in our armed services. They are the greatest people on the earth and I just want to give a hearty thank you. I know it does not do any justice but it is still something in which you deserve and it is the very minimal of what I can do in order to show my gratitude. Thank you for defending this country, and thank you for making this country the greatest in the world. America can never repay what you have given for us.
God Bless our Troops!!!!!! God be with those who have lost a loved one for fighting for this nation. Because there are no greater heroes, save God himself, then our men and women in the armed services.
So when you are sitting with your families this memorial day, take time to pay tribute to , again save Jesus himself, the greatest human beings whoever walked the earth.
And to those who are or have served, I only apologize this could not fully give you the credit and accolades you really deserve.

Word and Character
This I will try to keep shorter, although last time I feel things just got by me. Keeping your word. Your word is a very important , and I consider it one of my most important things. Your word, who you say you are and what you are going to do by themselves are not important. Anyone can open their yap and start talking themselves up or make a bunch of promises to people, but then never act on them, or do not live up to the person they say they are. It is when you actually live you to who you say you are and keep the promises you make, that is when they start meaning something.
Now I am not saying everyone is going to be perfect, and a lot of times in life things happen in which side track you from things you really wanted to. But your word, honor, and integrity are very important things. I had someone falsely accuse me of the man that I am. He questioned my character, my honor, and my word. He found out real quick he had no right and reason to do so. Because even though the situation got complicated for me, I was the man of my word. It is not always keeping our word, in stressful situations or when someone tries challenging us, but being the man I was, I kept it and lived up to the man I am.
This does apply to women by the way; I am not leaving you out. We as people need to be people of our word. Anyone can move their lips and sound real good, but you’re not even close (and yes, I know because of our sin in our life none of us can be good people) to being real people. Because real people keep their words and show their true character in how they live, not just what they choose to say.
As always feel free to comment. I may expand this at some point. If you have any suggestions what should be the next bog, please feel free to leave a suggestion. I will have the new email I promised earlier (and yes I am keeping that promise) later this week.

Friendship
I am going to try to keep this one nice and sweet, but sometimes I really never know how exactly these things are going to turn out. In life you meet a lot of people. It is an only obvious fact that you are going to like some people better than others. Should it happen, well if we are honesty with what the Bible says no. But yet fact remains there are definitely those who you enjoy their company more compared to other people. Yet the question and the issue I pose today is what exactly makes one of those people your friend? And even more so what makes them one of your friends in your close circle?
Because we all have friends yet again it is an obvious nature we are going to have some friends who are closer then others? But what makes them one of your friends in the first place? Obviously there is something about them that at least peeks your interest about them, otherwise there would be no real desire to hang out with them as often as you do or that you want to do.
Yet some people when they are talking about their close friends will have a wide and large group of people. Now on the one hand this may not seem too strange because it just means there is a lot of people you are very close with. But I think one of the key words in the statement which must be addressed is close. Because close in terms of friends is the inner circle, the group of people you trust the most and you can share anything with. The close group of friends who are the people you share the most. Even Jesus had a close group of the disciples. It did not mean he loved the rest any less, but he had his own close group of people. I think too often we may try, and by the way when I say we, again I am also referring to myself, we put too many people in our close circle. I think the close circle of friends should really be exactly that close. It should be more of your inner circle of friends who will always be there and you can actually share anything and everything with.
But more so, I think we need to be careful about who we call our friends in general. Because I think too often we get the ideal of a friend and maybe a close association mixed up. We will meet many people along the road in life and we have many friends. But at some point many of those people we call friends we don’t see or talk too ever again, sometimes even when we have the ability to do so. This makes me question how close we ever were in the beginning. Or if someone calls you their friend, or you call them yours, but then one or both do nothing to show any signs of friendship, which by the way is not really terribly difficult to do, were you really friends in the first place?
I am beginning a process in which I do from time to time. I am evaluating the relationships n my life. Because there are some people who I say are in my close circle maybe don’t really belong there. There are people who I call my friend, sometimes I question if I am really their friend or just a close association, or there are people who I know I have to make more of an effort to be a friend too, if I want to call them my friend.
The point I am making is you are going to meet a lot of people. You will get a long with a lot of people. I am not bringing down close associations. Most people probably do not like that term, but I think it is important to realize who your friends are. Don’t get me wrong, some friends are only for a season, it is going to happen in life, I know from personal experience. But take time as I do and try to honestly reflect on some of those people who you call a friend or who call you a friend. Is there a friendship or is there a “friendship”. And take time to consider who is in your close circle. Because your close circle really should be the people you are friends for life. The people who you could put your very life in your hands and not give it a second thought. Friends are a very important thing, and I think we need to understand just how important they are.

Another Congrats to the Great Kurt Classen
There are in our lifetime great men. Men who accomplish great things. But men are not always considered great just for the things they were able to accomplish. But it is their character and their dedication which even when they come short of a desired result, the effort and heart they gave still constitutes them as great man. Some people in the Dr. J fan nation know of a man know the great Kurt Classen, who I am honored to consider him a personal friend of mine. Very recently he joined a national speech competition. To make it to a national competition alone is something to be proud about. To be recognized as one of the best in the nation, is a honor in itself. And although my good friend did not make it as far as we was hoping, Dr. J still has to tip my hat in salute and honor. Some of you maybe thinking I am just being biased cause he is my friend and I should be focusing on the winner of the event. Well, yes I am biased and ah well. Because Dr. J is a man who recognizes character and effort over results. It is great when you can achieve the results your looking for, but too often do we not appreciate and honor the valiant attempts of such outstanding competitors. And having the strong character, the honor and nobility, to hold your head high and realize you still made a great accomplishment even in defeat, while still being happy for those who move on is just one of the great characteristics this man has. As of which, To Kurt Classen, I say congratulations for your valiant effort and impeccable character. Bravo sir, bravo.

America: Land OF religious freedom, so long as you are not religious
My dear readers, As you know Dr. J is a man who does not hide in trying to express how he feels about a certain topic. Yet he does try to honestly see the facts for what he is, and he is going to make sure even in this situation, he will tell you as much of the truth he knows in order for you the reader to get a complete understanding and help you figure out your opinion. As always I want you the reader to understand the issue at hand and think for yourself, even when it is a vial act of treachery.
Quite recently a Wisconsin judge (depending on what source you read) declared the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional. Due too much “pressure” although Obama (depending what report you read) is not canceling the day of prayer officially, but he is not having a white house ceremony.
I point out this fact because we don’t have all the facts and I don’t want to say I am totally blaming Obama for what happens. However, with that being said I want to express my dissatisfaction with this whole stupid issue. Because it should not be an issue at all. Obama should just tell people to suck it up and live with it. We have had this tradition ever since Truman was president. This day is a day on the calendar when Christians pray specifically for this country. Let me tell you something you political jug heads, if you are not Christians, then simply do not pray. That is all. You do not have to pray you are not forced to pray. But because of the nation we live in, which quite conveniently for Obama, is still ran by the Democrats (too be fair, I’m sure there are democrats who oppose this action just as I’m sure some republicans support it) , we begin to throw out all of these traditions America has just because we want change.
What type of change do you want to have in this nation? Are we really that pity of a nation that we are not going to allow prayer in our nations capitol just because we may offend some people? Of course you maybe thinking they can still pray if they want to. Well it is just the ideal that we would even stoop so low to the idea of offending some people by having prayer that we are not going to have prayer anymore. It is like the same stupid silly people who want so desperately to have In God we trust removed from our currency. They are idiots. Maybe you should just try ignoring us. How is it fair to the Christians in this nation. Oh we cant have a day for Christians to pray, but you had no problem giving a day for the Islamic religion to pray at the white house? If that is not the biggest pile of bull I ever heard in my life. It is an outrage. It is a spit in the face to all of those who worship God.
Although not all of our founding fathers were technically Christians, this nation was found on many Christian principals. We were also founded on the ideal of religious equality.
You know, even though I am reaching out to speak against the outrage of this whole nonsense, anyone can pray on the national day of prayer. The national day of prayer is exactly that, it does not discriminate who can and who cannot pray on this day. And if you do not want to pray then my simple advice for you would be not to pray. You do not have to and it really does not affect you in anyway.
But when the white house decides it is so wrong for them to hold this day at their house, how soon will it take for them to remove it from our national calendar. It is a complete outrage what they are doing. If there is suppose to be religious equality in our nation, and you can allow the Islamic community to pray at the white house, then by all means you should allow for Christians to hold a day of prayer as well. But no, our Government, deems it too offensive.
If you are a Christian this issue should really boil your blood. How many more things will Obama and the government which is in service right now do to our traditions and beliefs. We must take a stand and go against this. Even if Obama is not the one who started this whole mess, the fact he is doing this to support this is a travesty. We must stand up for what is right. How much more religious persecution will Christians get because of this government? We may not be getting killed but this is definitely a form of religious persecution
I know this was more of a rant dear readers. I do not apologize though. I am outraged beyond belief and if the government was really being fair to all, the day of prayer would continue. No they can never stop us from praying, even if it means it comes to the point where they begin to outlaw Christianity, we can always pray to the bitter end. In fact this nation is in need of prayer more than ever before and it is shown when the same government decided it is not going to hold a day of prayer. The question we have to ask ourselves is how many more of our rights are going to be trampled? how much more is this government going to do. I hope this whole matter sicken your stomach as much as it does mine. This is a very sad time in our nations history and I feel it is only going to get worse before it is going to get any better.
Pray for this nation. Pray for the Government. It needs it now more than other. This act, while saying it is to make sure other people who are non religious don’t get offended Is a clear slap in the face to the rest of us and we have to prepare ourselves for things worse to come. But the good news is, even with the government trampling our rights; we still got a God who is bigger than that. Make sure your trust is in that God, the one and only true God. Because our Government is no longer a Christian one. Not that it did not always have its struggles but now more than other, do we feel the oppression and the opposition the Government has. Saying America is a free country right now is an oxymoron. This nation is no longer that of religious equality, but only to those who do not have any sort of concern for religious matters, particularly the majority of those who would even conceive this is an ok thing to support. Pray that God, who is bigger than all things will save this nation. It needs all the help it can get.
And on the National Prayer Day I will still pray as I encourage you to do. Because whether or not Obama eventually cancels the day for good and not just the government offices in Washington, the one thing he could never do is stop us from loving and praying to God. This Government can do a lot of damage to the nation, but we know in the end God already has the victory over all. Yes even over this situation. Still, we have rights as Americans and they are being trampled and oppressed, and we must find a way to stand up for it, before we as Christians lose total rights. You say the day will never come? I say the day is closer than one may think. It is clear we can no longer depend on the Government for anything though. And my advice to you is to pray that God will salvage at least what is left of this nation if it is in his will to do so. We have dark days ahead, and this nation needs prayer more then ever.

Tigers Season Prediction
All right sports fans. I know some of you may be thinking it is too early to be making any predictions. After all, there are very many games in baseball and as far as the Tigers are concerned there's only been 8 games played of the season, 6 of them being wins so far. But still, there is things we can look at and try to see how we can improve and how we are going to do. I don't think there is any reason to panic about anything yet, but it is better to start looking at these things at the beginning of the season, because you want to correct these problems sooner than later. Before I get into that, I promised I would talk a little bit about the game Dr. J saw when he went to the ball park on Sunday. I am not going to get into this, but it was by far (out of the 7) best Tigers games I ever been to. What started off as a nnightmare for Verlander with the Indians leading 5-0 in the top of the first, The Tigers continued to make a steady come back during the game. It was the bottom of the ninth and the score was 8-7 Indians. There was two outs and bases were loaded. Laird was about to come out to bat who had at that point a .057 avg getting his first hit of the season earlier in the game. Anyways , they pinch hit for Damon. Perez walks Damon making the score 8-8. Then as Sizemore comes up to bat, Perez throws a wild pitch and Gullien comes in for the win. Tigers won 9-8! Commerica was electric! It was a great day to be at the ball park and was very happy to get to go to the game. But back to my predictions. With pitching, I would not try to worry too much but there are guys you have to keep your eyes on. I wouldn't worry about Verlander, he started off slow last season and he came right back. I would want to pay close attention to Willis and Bonderman who are off to decent starts this year but struggled a lot last year. Schezer is also someone who we may have to watch but just needs to get into a rhythm. The bull pen and closers have been doing a fairly ok job over all, and we need consistency from them too.It will be interesting to see how well Jackson will play for Curtis Granderson at CF. His batting is decent and so far he has been playing the field pretty well so far. Damon of course is not only suppose to help in the batting which could often be inconsistent last year but a powerful presence in the field. Magglio has been hitting surprisingly well more so compared to last year and has been doing a good job in RF. Caberra is still hitting solid and playing a good first base. We may need to watch Sizemore at 2nd base, but over time, I expect to see a lot of improvement, but in credit to him, he has been holding his own well enough. Expect to see improvement. The SS position it just depends who is playing that day, but theres a few guys who can step up and play that position good enough. Inge once again has sometimes problems hitting, but he is the outstanding 3b that be always is. Look for a great season playing defense, and I am personally betting an improved batting avg as well. Laird is someone who again it may be the start off the season, but is someone we need to watch. He has time to make improvements, but we always have the young Alex Avila in the Tigers to play Cather as well, who remember Tiger fans scored a HR in his very first up to bat.I def think this is going to be at least a 90+ win team this year. It will be hard to say if we will win the division and I think it is once again going to come down between the Twins and the Tigers in the AL Central. But Tigers fans, as of right now, I would say it is time to get excited.Dr. J loves hearing feed back. Please leave comments if you wish. I also like hearing suggestions about future blogs, whether about sports, social issues, just personal views, etc, please share your ideals, I would love to hear them. Thoughts on the Health Care Reform Bill
My dear readers, as I’m sure all of you are aware, unless you were hiding under some box, on May 21st, 2010, the health care bill was passed. This bill, in essence, is trying to give millions of Americans insurance who do not currently over it. While this bill may seem like a no brainer of a good thing, it is a very highly controversial matter. As always Dr. J is going to say what he thinks. Try not to take offense to it, by all means feel free to think a completely different way. In fact I encourage each of you to read and research the bill for yourselves, this is something although our Government already passed, is something you really need to know about and be able to at least understand the basic concepts. Here is a link of the bill (http://docs.house.gov/rules/health/111_ahcaa.pdf). It is almost 2,000pgs long, so obviously I did not have the chance to read it all, but if you want to really know what is being said, you can read it for yourself. In this blog, I will try to unravel how I feel about this matter. I do not claim to be an expert, nor the voice of all the people, though I had a number of people contact me in wanting this blog to be done. As I said, I am not trying to convince anyone, although if you do agree with me that’s great. This is simply one man’s opinion on a very controversial matter.
First off, the idea of universal health care, like many ideas good in theory, but when you try to break it down in principal it just really does not do you much good. The idea of being able to give health care, especially to those who cannot afford their own private insurance, is a nice thought. It would be nice to be able to do that. But the problem is, we live in America. Now I don’t know if you knew this or not, but in America, our Government is in debt in the trillions. When you live in a country which is in debt by the trillions, one has to ask themselves whether or not they really know what they are doing in the first place. Providing health care to Americans is a very expensive task, and it is one which is reported in the next ten years to cost over 900 billion dollars, and that is assuming it is an accurate estimate. Even though the bill says it wants to reduce the spending in health care, I do not see how you are going to be able to accurately do it. It is infeasible and it is not reasonable for someone to think health care is magically going to go down. People say though well it works in Canada. My dear people, do you know how much Canadians get charged in taxes? I do not have an exact number for you, but it is a pretty large amount. This really should not surprise anyone. Health care is expensive and I do not care how the Government tries to say it, it is still going to be expensive and although they say you are not going to pay as much for health care anymore (because we all know the Government would never tell a lie. I mean, just ask Bill Clinton) you will have to pay an arm and a leg in taxes.
But will you even get everything you really need? If you go to the fourth page of the link which I had posted, go down to line 17 of D where it says “so that all Americans can have ESSENTIAL health care benefits”. What exactly is essential? Who determines what essential or not? The Government does. And I think it is really going to come down to is, unless you have to have it, then it is not considered essential and you are not going to get it. Now you maybe thinking I have no proof to back up that claim. Well right now you are right I do not have the proof to back up such a claim, but do you really want to find out I was right? What happens if you get a injury which is a pain to have, but it is one in which you can live with. A injury in which it would be nice to have work done on it, but it is one in which does not need immediate attention. Hey after all, Brett Favre played with an ankle injury for years, so obviously not all injuries are something which needs work done on them right away. Who says the government is not going to decide you are not going to get surgery because it is not an absolute necessity. I do not think people quite understand exactly what is going on here. The Government is taking over the health care system which means they have the ability to take and make all the shots. And therefore, if they want to decide you do not need a surgery then you are not going to have a surgery. Do people realize how much the power the Government has here? Of course the Government is suppose to be the voice of the people, well there are a lot of Americans out there, whose voice is not being heard. And there were also a lot of politicians out there, who also did not think it was a good idea, because it showed in a very close race. But people who are not informed about political issues, elect idiots into office who then go and make devastation decisions like this. This is why it is so important for you to try to be educated on this. Even if you agree with what I am saying, I hope you do your own research. I want to say again, it is perfectly fine if you disagree with me. If you like the health care bill then fine that is great. If after doing research you still like it, good at least you did some research on it. But as I am reading this, I do not like the power the Government has. The Government I strongly feel abused its power in this bill. It has given itself a great source of power and it has the potential to take even more power away from the people.
And the thing of it is, you may be paying high taxes on something you do not qualify for. The bill talks about who qualifies, but it is mainly those who are not insured or meet other specific requirements. Another thing you may have to pay for is abortions. Now reading some other sources, it sounds like individual states will vote to decide whether or not they will cover it. But you may be paying for abortions, the killing of helpless and innocent potential lives. This sickens my soul and it is an ultimate slap to the face. Having to pay taxes so people can kill innocent lives. It is an abomination. But hey if the government says we should help pay for abortions then that is what we should do.
We Americans are supposed to have a voice. I know the bill was made with “good intention” to those who are not able to afford health care, but the fact is, the bill is taking power away from the American people. The bill is something which is lying when it says it is going to be more feasible. Not only are taxes going to go sky high, but I really do not believe our government which is in debt by trillions knows what they are doing here. Sure enough it is going to come back down the road and bite some people in the butt and it is going to be the tax payers, and those who after depending on the government for health care found out many of them were still not going to get the coverage they thought they were going to get. I do not trust the Government on this. It is going to be really bad for American unless somewhere down the road this is stopped. It is hard for me to say that, because I do feel bad for those without coverage. My heart does go out to them, and although I do think there should be some way to help them get some coverage, having a government run health care system is not the way of going about doing it. The Government is and will continue to abuse its power.
There is so much more I could probably discuss about this bill. I encourage you to leave feedback. Whether you disagree or agree. As always though, keep in mind, while Dr. J does run sometimes controversial blogs, he does try to make them reader friendly for all people. If you would like to contact Dr. J privately, email him at WolverineFan001@hotmail.com (Dr. J will soon be getting a new email, but that one will still be in use). God's Faithfulness
I am going to make this short but I am going to try to make this as meaningful as possible. In our lives we often think we are all alone sometimes. Even when Christians, people who know the promise of God has for us in our life. Yet sometimes we still do not turn to him in our time of need. God is there to lift us up in our trouble, if we just ask him for it, yet we refuse to ask of it. Now sometimes we do not do it because we are stubborn or God does not give us everything we want when we want it. It is true God is going to do his will and he is not going to just give us when we want when we want it. But we have a God who is bigger than anything and everything there is. There us nothing our God can not do in order to help us. When we come to the junction in our lives when we say we can’t do it, before we even get to the point, we should ask God for help. Daily, not only should we recommit ourselves to the Lord, but we should also allow for God to lead our lives. Because even when we are not faithful, God is faithful. I say that again because it is such a very important principal and important concept to grasp. Even though Christians have heard it on a number of occasions, it is still something we do not understand, and I can say this, because we still go through many problems in our life and we do not ask God to come and help us or we do not think he will be able to help us. We are talking about the same God who is the kings of kings and the lord of lords. We are talking about the God who died on the cross, who healed people and did so many miracles, the gospel of John says not all the books in the world would be able to contain all the works. I encourage you today, when in your time of need, or more importantly, before you get to the point of desperation, to trust in the Lord. The God of infinite power and wisdom. He will always be there to help us, even though we do not deserve it. Understand something though, just because you ask God for help, does not mean he is going to answer your prayer in the exact way you want it. But God, the loving God he is, is always going to be there for us, and he is going to do whatever is in your best interest. There is something’s we can not do in our lives, in fact, if we try to live our lives without God, we are going to fail. Do you want to fail in life? Or would you rather follow God and have the assurance you will have the guidance of a loving God who will always be there for us, even when we do not deserve it. Who will always be there for us. It is up to you to decide, but as for me, I will choose the king of kings and lord of lords, who is always faithful in his love for us, even when we are not.

What do you live your life for?
What do you live your life for? I don’t think it is a question most people ask themselves very often. They don’t think about the question, because they live their lives on a simple day to day basis without really thinking about why their doing what they’re doing, their just doing it. But if you are reading this then stop and ask yourself something, what is it that I am striving for in life. Because we all want something in life and we are all working for something in life.
Are you working for money? To make as much money as you possibly can so you can do all the things you always wanted to do. Do you strive for simply happiness? Simply being content with life and not really worrying about tomorrow, just happy for the things you have and the people you know. Do you strive mainly for fame and glory? Not so much as concerned with the money aspect, but you want to be popular and you really want to make a lasting impression of the world.
Now there are a lot of things people strive for. And some people who know Dr. J may be shocked I did not present a certain option which I will get into a minute. The thing is, it is important to know the reason your doing the things you are doing in life. The things you are striving for in life. And if you really stop and think about it, the things you are doing are things that you find important.
So another question, do you maybe strive for the things of God in your life?
And of course many people would say yes they are, after all God is only concerned with us being good people, but there is a reason why the gates of hell are wide and the gates of heaven are narrow. There are many people who are living their lives for themselves, and we all do it at times, Dr. J is also guilty of that, but we lives our lives for ourselves and we do not concern ourselves as much with the things God wants from us.
Now that may seem like a completely irrational thing to say. I may not have the right to say such a thing about a audience of readers I do not have the slightest clue about. But the fact of the matter is most people do live their lives not on the basis of what God wants for them but simply what they want to do out of their own selfish desire. We do not live our life by what God wants our but our own wants. We are suppose to be living our life for the glory and the kingdom of God and yet we do not care about the things he wants to have from us in our life. God has a specific plan for us one in which we are going to be successful maybe not by the standards of the world, but one which will serve and glorify the kingdom of God.
And what is troubling is a lot of people who call themselves Christians do not give God the glory which he deserves and they do not consult him on what they should do with their lives. This is because they are so focused on themselves and so focused about making sure they are living to the standards of the world that they put the things of God on the back burner. Then when life comes to a point where it seems unsatisfying to them, they blame God for it, when in reality, it is because they did not put their trust in God and followed the calling God had for them, they are in the situation they are in.
What are you living your life for? Life is never going to be perfect, even when we follow God we are going to come upon hard time in our life, there is really no question about that. But if we want to live successful life’s and life’s which have meaning what are we going to choose? What we want our what God wants? We can choose to do whatever we want in life, but if we want to have truly meaningful life’s, and if we call ourselves Christians, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins and provides for us every single day we are on earth, if we want to have truly meaningful lives, then there is only one reasonable option in which we should try to strive for. We should strive for Christ. Living a life for Christ to the best ability we can. C.S. Lewis once said , “There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, "Thy will be done," and those to whom God says, "All right, then, have it your way”.
Only you can choose what you can live for and what you can strive for. But if you want to strive for something which really matters, strive for the things of God not of the world. Jesus after all tells us even though we are living in the world we are not to be of the world. Choose to strive for something which really matters. Remember, the world will come to an end one day, but God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and forever is a quite literal term. Choose to strive for a life and things which can make a eternal impact. Choose to strive for the things of God. Or choose to strive to satisfy your own selfish desires.
What do you live your life for?

Valentines Day: Is it the love or the material things?
Valentines Day, one of the days on the calendar where Hallmark suggest you should tell that special someone how much you really love someone by buying her a nice card. It is the day of the year jewelry stores suggest if you really want to show your love you will get her a nice gift, more specifically from their store. It is the day of the year candy shops stock up, because if you really love someone, you will be sure to buy their favorite candy for them.
Now some of you may be thinking the reason your being so pessimistic Dr. J, is because your one of the lonely people on a day which should be renamed Single Awareness Day. But the truth is if you did not know this, Valentines Day is indeed a commercialized holiday.
I am going to make it brief but please heed my point. There is nothing wrong with doing nice things for the people you love, in fact I would hope you would be doing it. But nice things don’t mean you have to go out and buy all this stuff. When two people are in love they should already be showing each other how much they love each other every day and it should not take a commercialized day on the calendar to do so.
Valentines day sends out the bad vibe if you love someone you will buy them something and so many people fall into that trap. Again, while it is not wrong to get your special someone something nice, why do you pick this day in particular? How often do you get something nice for them when it is not a commercialized holiday?
People, you don’t need a day on the calendar to show your love for them. Valentines day and other days like it are made by companies so you will spend your money, with lies if you don’t buy there is no love. And what is worse there are people who buy into the idea if they don’t get something then they are not loved.
What there needs to be in a true relationship is a genuine love everyday. You don’t need a day on the calendar to show your love. You should be doing it every single day and although you can treat them to something nice if you want to, there are so many ways to show your love without spending your money. If your going to be spending Valentines Day with someone, make sure it is all about the love, not the material things of trying to please your lover on a day which was set up by corporations

Johnny Pye & the Fool-Killer
Dr. J got the chance to watch an smashingly exuberant performance performed by SAU’s theatre crew entitled Johnny Pye & the Fool-Killer. The musical was not only entertaining for the witty humor, the clever performance by the cast, a interesting story line, it was also a good moral reminder about life. Dr. J applauds this phenomenal performance and thanks his friends, Trevor Tracy and Kyle Thompson and the rest of the cast, for your more than brilliant performance. I give it the Dr. J seal of approval.
And that is Dr. J’s Thought of the Day
P.S. As a reminder to the blogger nation, A special Sunday edition will be posted. Valentines Day, Commerical or Not?

Superbowl Blog
Alright sports fans, it is time for me to do my promised review of the game of the Super bowl. Being as many of the people who are going to take time to read this have probably watched it, I will try not to bore you too much by repeating things you already know.
Dr. J was very happy with the results of the game. Although he wanted to see his beloved QB, Brett Favre and Vikings play in the game, it is important to cheer for you division (and let’s face it, who does not get sick and tired of hearing about Peyton Manning this and Peyton Manning that). It was a valiant effort played by both sides, but we all watched the momentum leap out of the Colts hands as the second half started and they would never totally recover it. After the onside kick, The Saints got in a rhythm while the Colts struggled to continue playing the same level of intensity they were playing with in the first half. Dr. J’s key to the game, as those who were with Dr. J yesterday, knew from my view it was going to be about being able to get pressure on Peyton Manning. Although the Saints defense struggled with it during the first half, they really got going in the second half, which would lead Peyton to throw an INT. Though the Colts still showed they would continue to play competitive, it would be the Saints, who appearing in the super bowl for the very first time, would beat the who most considered favorite Colts.
Although the Colts are a dominating team, this example needs to remind sports fans of something. Anything can happen on any given day. Now the Saints obviously are not some schlock team, they are after all the Champions (and no, we will be lucky if we see the Lions in the playoffs in a few decades, let alone having a super bowl appearance sometime this century). But the high and mighty Colts took a tumble to the Saints. And all one can do, is join the chorus rising from Bourbon Street has they celebrate until the start of next football season. If you would like to make Peyton feel better, send him a message. If you want a chuckle, make sure you have The Saints Go Marching on in the background.
And that is Dr. J’s thought of the Day. The next addition will probably be on whether or not Valentines is really a day to show your true love, or is it just simply another day in which people buy into another commercialized Hallmark special. As always I would love to hear your opinions and would also love to hear your ideas for future blog posts. It can be practically on any topic you want, I want to be able to satisfy readers , so if you have any suggestions, leave it in the comment box or email at WolverineFan001@hotmail.com . Thanks for reading.

Congrats Kurt Classen!!
A while ago, Dr. J wrote a tribute to a man, known as the great Kurt Merlin Classen, which is exclusive for friends of the man behind Dr. J and the Spring Arbor network. Last night though, this illustrious man once again proved why he is one of the best at the things he does. When competing in the Michigan Intercollegiate Speech League (MISL), this man achieved 2nd place in the MISL Novice State Championship ADS division. Now some of you out there in the Dr. J nation may wonder why I chose to write about the second place instead of the first. Well firstly, anyone who knows the Great Kurt Classen knows he really is the one who deserves first place. But more importantly, when a person is able to achieve that type of honor, that impressive of an accomplishment, it is only befitting he gets some type of recognition for his valiant effort, even if it is in the form of a meager post like this. Talent like that is simply natural. And the man is only going to get better. To come in second place in a place where you got so many people competing is an amazing thing. And therefore, it is on this note in which I once again, give my great friend, the great Kurt Classen a thunderous applause and a mighty congratulation. It was an impressive accomplishment, and Dr. J is not only very proud, but also very happy for his friend.

"Should they change the Dont ask Dont tell policy?
So I am a man of controversy. And I am going to be talking about how Obama feels that that the “Don’t Tell” Policy for the Armed Services should be revoked. Now I am not trying to offend anyone when I say this but I am in favor of keeping the policy just as it is right now. The policy right now does not forbid people who choose to engage in unscriptural sexual preferences from joining the army, it just says they can’t be open about it.
Now understand where I am coming from. Although I do not agree with homosexuality, a person does have that choice. And if those same people want to fight for their country well then more power to them. Now let’s look at a few things here for just a moment. Number one, military service is not required. If you are joining the military, you are making a choice, and by making the choice, you are agreeing to the standards and practices of the military. So if you are even signing up for the military in the first place, you are agreeing to the policy. If you do not agree with it, then there is a simple process of simply not joining the military.
Secondly, believe it or not, the policy is also there to help people who choose to be homosexual, helps them to hopeful prevent any possible harassing from soldiers. A lot of people would be uncomfortable with living in such tight quarters as someone who is homosexual, and those same people may not treat the person who is homosexual well if they know their preference. The policy therefore then its to help both parties.
You can say what you want. I’m not trying to discriminate against who are homosexual. I’m not saying they should not join the army. But if they choose to, then they should accept the polices and regulations which go along with that. I do not think the policy will ever change, and if it does, they are going to be asking for more problems then they already have. Obama and the rest of the Government who support the change are supporting it more to look good, rather then to do actual good. This is one area where I feel politics need to keep their noses out of it, and let the military do what thye need to do. I know it is important for people to be themselves, but in some situations (especially if you are agreeing to it) you have to keep certain information about yourself private.
I
I tried to keep this civil and I ask you please do the same (I am afraid I will have to remove any vulgar posts from the comments). Share your thoughts whether you agree or disagree on this issue.
Usually posts are not like this, but this one really got under my skin. Next week will be a super bowl addition. As always I would love to hear ideas for future blogs (sports, politics, religion, challenges in daily life) whatever it may be.
I would also love to use this opportunity to pray with people. If you have a prayer request, email me at WolverineFan001@hotmail.com (different email then the one listed on my profile I know) and I would love to pray with you about things going on in your life.
