Tigers Season Prediction
All right sports fans. I know some of you may be thinking it is too early to be making any predictions. After all, there are very many games in baseball and as far as the Tigers are concerned there's only been 8 games played of the season, 6 of them being wins so far. But still, there is things we can look at and try to see how we can improve and how we are going to do. I don't think there is any reason to panic about anything yet, but it is better to start looking at these things at the beginning of the season, because you want to correct these problems sooner than later. Before I get into that, I promised I would talk a little bit about the game Dr. J saw when he went to the ball park on Sunday. I am not going to get into this, but it was by far (out of the 7) best Tigers games I ever been to. What started off as a nnightmare for Verlander with the Indians leading 5-0 in the top of the first, The Tigers continued to make a steady come back during the game. It was the bottom of the ninth and the score was 8-7 Indians. There was two outs and bases were loaded. Laird was about to come out to bat who had at that point a .057 avg getting his first hit of the season earlier in the game. Anyways , they pinch hit for Damon. Perez walks Damon making the score 8-8. Then as Sizemore comes up to bat, Perez throws a wild pitch and Gullien comes in for the win. Tigers won 9-8! Commerica was electric! It was a great day to be at the ball park and was very happy to get to go to the game. But back to my predictions. With pitching, I would not try to worry too much but there are guys you have to keep your eyes on. I wouldn't worry about Verlander, he started off slow last season and he came right back. I would want to pay close attention to Willis and Bonderman who are off to decent starts this year but struggled a lot last year. Schezer is also someone who we may have to watch but just needs to get into a rhythm. The bull pen and closers have been doing a fairly ok job over all, and we need consistency from them too.It will be interesting to see how well Jackson will play for Curtis Granderson at CF. His batting is decent and so far he has been playing the field pretty well so far. Damon of course is not only suppose to help in the batting which could often be inconsistent last year but a powerful presence in the field. Magglio has been hitting surprisingly well more so compared to last year and has been doing a good job in RF. Caberra is still hitting solid and playing a good first base. We may need to watch Sizemore at 2nd base, but over time, I expect to see a lot of improvement, but in credit to him, he has been holding his own well enough. Expect to see improvement. The SS position it just depends who is playing that day, but theres a few guys who can step up and play that position good enough. Inge once again has sometimes problems hitting, but he is the outstanding 3b that be always is. Look for a great season playing defense, and I am personally betting an improved batting avg as well. Laird is someone who again it may be the start off the season, but is someone we need to watch. He has time to make improvements, but we always have the young Alex Avila in the Tigers to play Cather as well, who remember Tiger fans scored a HR in his very first up to bat.I def think this is going to be at least a 90+ win team this year. It will be hard to say if we will win the division and I think it is once again going to come down between the Twins and the Tigers in the AL Central. But Tigers fans, as of right now, I would say it is time to get excited.Dr. J loves hearing feed back. Please leave comments if you wish.
