Another Congrats to the Great Kurt Classen

There are in our lifetime great men. Men who accomplish great things. But men are not always considered great just for the things they were able to accomplish. But it is their character and their dedication which even when they come short of a desired result, the effort and heart they gave still constitutes them as great man. Some people in the Dr. J fan nation know of a man know the great Kurt Classen, who I am honored to consider him a personal friend of mine. Very recently he joined a national speech competition. To make it to a national competition alone is something to be proud about. To be recognized as one of the best in the nation, is a honor in itself. And although my good friend did not make it as far as we was hoping, Dr. J still has to tip my hat in salute and honor. Some of you maybe thinking I am just being biased cause he is my friend and I should be focusing on the winner of the event. Well, yes I am biased and ah well. Because Dr. J is a man who recognizes character and effort over results. It is great when you can achieve the results your looking for, but too often do we not appreciate and honor the valiant attempts of such outstanding competitors. And having the strong character, the honor and nobility, to hold your head high and realize you still made a great accomplishment even in defeat, while still being happy for those who move on is just one of the great characteristics this man has. As of which, To Kurt Classen, I say congratulations for your valiant effort and impeccable character. Bravo sir, bravo.

America: Land OF religious freedom, so long as you are not religious

My dear readers, As you know Dr. J is a man who does not hide in trying to express how he feels about a certain topic. Yet he does try to honestly see the facts for what he is, and he is going to make sure even in this situation, he will tell you as much of the truth he knows in order for you the reader to get a complete understanding and help you figure out your opinion. As always I want you the reader to understand the issue at hand and think for yourself, even when it is a vial act of treachery.
Quite recently a Wisconsin judge (depending on what source you read) declared the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional. Due too much “pressure” although Obama (depending what report you read) is not canceling the day of prayer officially, but he is not having a white house ceremony.
I point out this fact because we don’t have all the facts and I don’t want to say I am totally blaming Obama for what happens. However, with that being said I want to express my dissatisfaction with this whole stupid issue. Because it should not be an issue at all. Obama should just tell people to suck it up and live with it. We have had this tradition ever since Truman was president. This day is a day on the calendar when Christians pray specifically for this country. Let me tell you something you political jug heads, if you are not Christians, then simply do not pray. That is all. You do not have to pray you are not forced to pray. But because of the nation we live in, which quite conveniently for Obama, is still ran by the Democrats (too be fair, I’m sure there are democrats who oppose this action just as I’m sure some republicans support it) , we begin to throw out all of these traditions America has just because we want change.
What type of change do you want to have in this nation? Are we really that pity of a nation that we are not going to allow prayer in our nations capitol just because we may offend some people? Of course you maybe thinking they can still pray if they want to. Well it is just the ideal that we would even stoop so low to the idea of offending some people by having prayer that we are not going to have prayer anymore. It is like the same stupid silly people who want so desperately to have In God we trust removed from our currency. They are idiots. Maybe you should just try ignoring us. How is it fair to the Christians in this nation. Oh we cant have a day for Christians to pray, but you had no problem giving a day for the Islamic religion to pray at the white house? If that is not the biggest pile of bull I ever heard in my life. It is an outrage. It is a spit in the face to all of those who worship God.
Although not all of our founding fathers were technically Christians, this nation was found on many Christian principals. We were also founded on the ideal of religious equality.
You know, even though I am reaching out to speak against the outrage of this whole nonsense, anyone can pray on the national day of prayer. The national day of prayer is exactly that, it does not discriminate who can and who cannot pray on this day. And if you do not want to pray then my simple advice for you would be not to pray. You do not have to and it really does not affect you in anyway.
But when the white house decides it is so wrong for them to hold this day at their house, how soon will it take for them to remove it from our national calendar. It is a complete outrage what they are doing. If there is suppose to be religious equality in our nation, and you can allow the Islamic community to pray at the white house, then by all means you should allow for Christians to hold a day of prayer as well. But no, our Government, deems it too offensive.
If you are a Christian this issue should really boil your blood. How many more things will Obama and the government which is in service right now do to our traditions and beliefs. We must take a stand and go against this. Even if Obama is not the one who started this whole mess, the fact he is doing this to support this is a travesty. We must stand up for what is right. How much more religious persecution will Christians get because of this government? We may not be getting killed but this is definitely a form of religious persecution
I know this was more of a rant dear readers. I do not apologize though. I am outraged beyond belief and if the government was really being fair to all, the day of prayer would continue. No they can never stop us from praying, even if it means it comes to the point where they begin to outlaw Christianity, we can always pray to the bitter end. In fact this nation is in need of prayer more than ever before and it is shown when the same government decided it is not going to hold a day of prayer. The question we have to ask ourselves is how many more of our rights are going to be trampled? how much more is this government going to do. I hope this whole matter sicken your stomach as much as it does mine. This is a very sad time in our nations history and I feel it is only going to get worse before it is going to get any better.
Pray for this nation. Pray for the Government. It needs it now more than other. This act, while saying it is to make sure other people who are non religious don’t get offended Is a clear slap in the face to the rest of us and we have to prepare ourselves for things worse to come. But the good news is, even with the government trampling our rights; we still got a God who is bigger than that. Make sure your trust is in that God, the one and only true God. Because our Government is no longer a Christian one. Not that it did not always have its struggles but now more than other, do we feel the oppression and the opposition the Government has. Saying America is a free country right now is an oxymoron. This nation is no longer that of religious equality, but only to those who do not have any sort of concern for religious matters, particularly the majority of those who would even conceive this is an ok thing to support. Pray that God, who is bigger than all things will save this nation. It needs all the help it can get.
And on the National Prayer Day I will still pray as I encourage you to do. Because whether or not Obama eventually cancels the day for good and not just the government offices in Washington, the one thing he could never do is stop us from loving and praying to God. This Government can do a lot of damage to the nation, but we know in the end God already has the victory over all. Yes even over this situation. Still, we have rights as Americans and they are being trampled and oppressed, and we must find a way to stand up for it, before we as Christians lose total rights. You say the day will never come? I say the day is closer than one may think. It is clear we can no longer depend on the Government for anything though. And my advice to you is to pray that God will salvage at least what is left of this nation if it is in his will to do so. We have dark days ahead, and this nation needs prayer more then ever.

Tigers Season Prediction

All right sports fans. I know some of you may be thinking it is too early to be making any predictions. After all, there are very many games in baseball and as far as the Tigers are concerned there's only been 8 games played of the season, 6 of them being wins so far. But still, there is things we can look at and try to see how we can improve and how we are going to do. I don't think there is any reason to panic about anything yet, but it is better to start looking at these things at the beginning of the season, because you want to correct these problems sooner than later. Before I get into that, I promised I would talk a little bit about the game Dr. J saw when he went to the ball park on Sunday. I am not going to get into this, but it was by far (out of the 7) best Tigers games I ever been to. What started off as a nnightmare for Verlander with the Indians leading 5-0 in the top of the first, The Tigers continued to make a steady come back during the game. It was the bottom of the ninth and the score was 8-7 Indians. There was two outs and bases were loaded. Laird was about to come out to bat who had at that point a .057 avg getting his first hit of the season earlier in the game. Anyways , they pinch hit for Damon. Perez walks Damon making the score 8-8. Then as Sizemore comes up to bat, Perez throws a wild pitch and Gullien comes in for the win. Tigers won 9-8! Commerica was electric! It was a great day to be at the ball park and was very happy to get to go to the game. But back to my predictions. With pitching, I would not try to worry too much but there are guys you have to keep your eyes on. I wouldn't worry about Verlander, he started off slow last season and he came right back. I would want to pay close attention to Willis and Bonderman who are off to decent starts this year but struggled a lot last year. Schezer is also someone who we may have to watch but just needs to get into a rhythm. The bull pen and closers have been doing a fairly ok job over all, and we need consistency from them too.It will be interesting to see how well Jackson will play for Curtis Granderson at CF. His batting is decent and so far he has been playing the field pretty well so far. Damon of course is not only suppose to help in the batting which could often be inconsistent last year but a powerful presence in the field. Magglio has been hitting surprisingly well more so compared to last year and has been doing a good job in RF. Caberra is still hitting solid and playing a good first base. We may need to watch Sizemore at 2nd base, but over time, I expect to see a lot of improvement, but in credit to him, he has been holding his own well enough. Expect to see improvement. The SS position it just depends who is playing that day, but theres a few guys who can step up and play that position good enough. Inge once again has sometimes problems hitting, but he is the outstanding 3b that be always is. Look for a great season playing defense, and I am personally betting an improved batting avg as well. Laird is someone who again it may be the start off the season, but is someone we need to watch. He has time to make improvements, but we always have the young Alex Avila in the Tigers to play Cather as well, who remember Tiger fans scored a HR in his very first up to bat.I def think this is going to be at least a 90+ win team this year. It will be hard to say if we will win the division and I think it is once again going to come down between the Twins and the Tigers in the AL Central. But Tigers fans, as of right now, I would say it is time to get excited.Dr. J loves hearing feed back. Please leave comments if you wish. I also like hearing suggestions about future blogs, whether about sports, social issues, just personal views, etc, please share your ideals, I would love to hear them.
